Expressing grave concern over the ‘misuse' of the government machinery in the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled States to advance the BJP-Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh agenda, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) pledged to make special efforts to combat the trend.
Holding the “hate propaganda” of the RSS and its many fronts responsible for the rise of Hindutva terror groups with many of them using the BJP-ruled States as a base for training, the party pointed to the alleged involvement of RSS pracharak s in terror acts.
“The utter hypocrisy of the RSS combine's claim to be a patriotic force against terrorism is thoroughly exposed by the fact that many RSS pracharaks are accused in the cases of bomb explosions in Malegaon, Mecca Masjid, Ajmer Sharif and the Samjhauta train blasts in which hundreds of innocent people were killed,” a resolution “Against RSS-BJP Communal Agenda” adopted by the 20th party congress said.
While demanding speedy trial and punishment, it asked the Centre to adequately compensate all those Muslim youth wrongly accused and jailed for months and years in these cases.
Demanding justice for the victims of the Gujarat ‘genocide', it said, many of those guilty continued to occupy high office and every pressure was being brought to save Chief Minister Narendra Modi from being named as an accused in the Gulberg Society case even though there was sufficient evidence against him in the case.
Turing to increasing attacks on the rights of minorities and communal incidents targeting minority communities in the Mangalore region of Karnataka, it said besides destroying churches, the special target of attack had been friendship among students of different communities.
The resolution also noted with concern that in States such as Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka, public money was being channelled through non-governmental organisations sponsored by the RSS to help them spread their “communal agenda.”
“In Madhya Pradesh, valuable land has been given to such communal outfits. In addition, secular welfare schemes like mid-day meal or anganwadi centres are sought to be communalised through the introduction of Hindu rituals and recitation of mantras within the functioning of the scheme…These create problems for children of oppressed castes. In particular, RSS-sponsored NGOs are helped to introduce such Hinduised rituals in Adivasi areas to weaken Adivasi cultures and diverse forms of worships of their own deities linked to nature.”
