Goa Congress has suspended the president of State Youth Congress Valanka Alemao, for anti-party activities during the Lok Sabha elections of 2014.

Ms. Alemao, daughter of senior Goa Congress leader and former Minister Churchill Alemao, was facing charges of anti-party activities. The party felt that Ms. Alema, did not support the official Congress candidate in south Goa constituency Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, instead campaigned for her father Churchill Alemao, who had rebelled and fought the election as an independent candidate after Ms. Alemao was denied ticket by the party.

However, Ms. Alemao has alleged harassment and torture by the Goa Congress party.
