The Delhi gang-rape case was on Thursday committed to the Sessions fast-track court where arguments on framing of charges against the five accused men in the case are expected to commence from January 21.
A magisterial court committed the case to Sessions after the scrutiny of documents filed along with the charge sheet was completed. The case will, henceforth, be heard by Additional Sessions Judge Yogesh Khanna, to whose court all cases of rape of the South and South-East Delhi districts are being transferred.
Meanwhile, V. K. Anand, counsel for main accused bus driver Ram Singh, told reporters that he was planning to move the Supreme Court in a few days seeking transfer of the trial to any other State in India except Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
Fears no fair trial
Counsel said his client was apprehensive about receiving a fair trial because of the immense media pressure that the case has witnessed.
Earlier, Metropolitan Magistrate Namrita Aggarwal, had ordered in-camera proceedings in the case and restrained the media from reporting on the court proceedings. Defence counsel M. L. Sharma, V. K. Anand, Vivek Sharma and A. P. Singh told reporters outside the court that they had also received the e-challan copy of the charge sheet and all the documents related to the case had also been supplied to them.
The five accused persons — bus driver Ram Singh, his brother Mukesh, Vinay Sharma, Pawan Gupta and Akshay Singh — were also produced from the Tihar Central Jail for the hearing on Thursday.

Is there any fast track for Afzal Guru?
I don't understand why hanging the rapists is being called for at all.
It seems such an easy exit for them. For the brutality that has been
unleashed by them, shouldn't they be shamed in front of the country? IF
the victim had survived, wouldn't she have lived a life of torture
because of the trauma caused by the incident as well as the "support"
that is generally offered by our great society? Why shouldn't they be
tattooed "Rapist" in indelible ink and their faces shown in every
newspaper? I believe hanging is too simple a punishment for such a
heinous act.
Lets fight together for another Nirbhaya, who was raped in August 2011 and still fighting for life in Jaipur hospital. The perpetrators are still not punished due to their political contacts.
We live in a Democratic Society and one might well ask the Protestors if they would feel safe once the "perpetrators" are given capital punishment. What about the hundreds of other things in terms of lack of efficiency of the Police the Judiciary and the insensitivity of the Politicians? Would all of those just go away?
After a fair trial relevent justice should be given. After the judgement mercy petition can be encourged. Two judges hear them then they show mercy and relevent sentence won't be given like capital punishment. If mercy petition is encourged it should be heard by more judges 5 or 10 to sit and deliver the final order.
