Software engineer Rajesh Gulati, who reportedly killed his wife and kept her body in a deep freezer in his Prakash Vihar residence here, was remanded to four days' police custody by a local court on Monday.
“It's the rarest of rare heinous crimes and we will get to the bottom of the affair soon,” M.A. Ganapathy, Inspector-General of Police, Garhwal Range, said.
Rajesh allegedly killed his wife in a fit of anger on October 17. Showing no remorse, Rajesh told journalists that he had done it all for the sake of his four-year-old twins.
He said his relations with Anupama had soured over the past 11 years.
He also referred to a woman with whom he had an affair in Kolkata.
The murder came to light after Anupama's brother lodged a complaint with the police on Sunday.
