Four more arrested in Tamang murder case

Four suspected GJM activists have been arrested in connection with the murder of Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League chief Madan Tamang, police said Thursday.

Puran Rai, Asish Tamang, Suni Rai and Tilak Sctang were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder of Tamang. They are believed to be the members of GJM and its frontal organisations, the sources said.

The four arrested were produced before court which remanded them to police custody for 10 days.

Three persons including chief of Gorkha Personnel (GLP), ‘police’ wing of GJM Ramesh Ale have earlier been arrested in connection with the murder of Tamang.

Madan Tamang was killed in Darjeeling town by a group of unidentified persons on May 21.
