Four Indian men, who went to Syria to fight for the Islamic State have been arrested by the Syrian security forces, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Moallem told on Wednesday during a press conference at the end of his four-day India visit.

“Four Indians who went to fight for the Islamic State are in a prison in Damascus right now,” Mr Al-Moallem said explaining that Syria and India are in the process of deepening intelligence and security cooperation to deal with the threat of international terrorism.

“Terrorism does not know any boundary. My discussion with the External Affairs Minister of India Sushma Swaraj reflected that our views on important issues converge and that is why greater security cooperation between two sides is underway,” the Foreign Minister said.
