Former CBI Director appointed UPSC member

Former CBI Director Amar Pratap Singh has been appointed a member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by UPSC chairman D.P. Agrawal on Wednesday, an official press release said.

Mr. Singh, a 1974-batch IPS officer of Jharkhand cadre, relinquished his post as CBI Director on November 30 last after superannuating at the end of his two-year-long tenure during which he supervised some high-profile graft and crime cases, including the 2G scam.
