The Army on Friday said five more armed infiltrators were killed in Baramulla’s Uri sector near the Line of Control, taking the death toll of militants to 12 in operations since Tuesday night.

Continuing with its operations for the fourth day in Kupwara’s Macchil and Naugam sectors and Baramulla’s Uri sector in north Kashmir, the Army detected militants hiding in the Uri forests, the mountainous terrain that extends into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. “Five militants have been killed in the ongoing operation. Searches are on for more,” a Srinagar-based Army spokesman told The Hindu.

Foiling multiple infiltration bids in north Kashmir, the Army killed four in Macchil sector, three in Naugam and five in Uri.
