Security forces killed at least five militants trying to cross the Line of Control into Kashmir Valley in Uri Sector on Monday.  According to an Army spokesperson, five militants have been killed so far in Uri as the operation continues. Preliminary reports suggest it was a major bid to fan out militants into north Kashmir.  Director General of Police, J&K, S.P Vaid said, "The incident took place at Duljana Uri. Search is on for the sixth body," he said. DGP Vaid said the group belonged to Jaish-e-Muhammad. "The suicidal group was jointly killed in an operation by the police, army and CRPF," he said.
