Five Indian workers, who have been stranded here for months due to non-payment of salaries by a firm since September last year, will soon be repatriated, official sources said.

They are among seven Indians left in the lurch after the Indian partner of the firm fled to the country.

While one person has already been repatriated, another told the Indian consulate here that he wanted to stay back and look for a job. “We are in the process of repatriating the other five,” a source said.

The workers had been employed by Ortronics, which undertakes sub-contracts to lay down cables.

Roydin Roach, who had hired them, left for India without making any payments or other arrangements.
