Farooqui to probe Brinda detention

The State government on Tuesday named senior IAS officer M.F. Farooqui to investigate the detention of Communist Party of India (Marxist) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat while she was on her way to Uthapuram on September 12.

A release said that Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi had ordered the enquiry and that Mr. Farooqui will submit a report in 15 days.
