Class XI students of a school in West Midnapore district of West Bengal, who had failed in the annual examination, locked up all 50 staff members and secretary in the school on Thursday, after their meeting failed to yield any result.
The students of Nayabasan Janakalyan Vidyapeeth at Gopiballabhpur made it clear that they would not open the gate till all of them were promoted to Class XII, said Ashok Pattanaik, secretary of the school's managing committee.
Altogether, 90 of the 247 students of Class XI had failed in the annual examination conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
