Engineer alleges threat to life from BSP MLA, U.P. Govt orders inquiry

The Uttar Pradesh Government today ordered an inquiry into allegations levelled by an executive engineer against a BSP legislator of threatening him with dire consequences, a government spokesman said here.

“Principal Secretary (Irrigation) K S Atoria will conduct an inquiry into allegations levelled by engineer Shivdas against BSP MLA from Lakhna Bhimrao Ambedkar,” the spokesman said, adding that the government had taken a serious view of the incident.

The principal secretary has been asked to summon the engineer and take complete details of the case so that the government could take proper decision on the matter.

“Unduly pressurising officers and employees in the discharge of duty would not be tolerated. In this case if the complaint is found correct after inquiry, effective action would be take against the person concerned,” he added.
