Eight Naxals were arrested in an operation by the Central Reserve Police Force and the police of Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, the police said on Sunday.

The Naxals were involved in the killing of 27 jawans in the district last year and other criminal activities.

On information that Naxalites had planned a meeting in the Sulenga hills here, the police swung into action and arrested the eight Naxals in an area under the Dhaudai police station. They also recovered two bombs, a detonator and some wires from them.

Further investigation was on, the police said.
