The Election Commission has asked the News Broadcasters Association to take action that it deems ‘appropriate’ against the Zee media group on the basis of a complaint lodged by noted industrialist and Congress MP Naveen Jindal, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Kurukshetra in Haryana.

Mr. Jindal had urged the Election Commission to restrain the group from broadcasting “false, defamatory and misleading news items” against him and his group of companies.
