The draft report of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the 2G spectrum allocation scam, submitted by its chairman Murli Manohar Joshi, should be consigned to the dustbin as it has already been rejected by a majority of the PAC members, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, V. Narayanasamy, said on Monday.
Talking to reporters here, he said: “It is not the draft report of the PAC, but only that of its Chairman, who has violated all norms and procedures. Besides, he has acted in an autocratic manner and did not take the members into confidence. There are no documents to substantiate the claims [made in the report] and, therefore, it should be thrown into the dustbin.”
Urging the Lok Sabha Speaker to reject the draft report, Mr. Narayanasamy also called for cancelling the ‘Best Parliamentarian Award' given in 2009 to Dr. Joshi.
Not shielding anyone
He denied that the Centre was shielding anybody linked to the spectrum allocation case.
“It is not correct to say that 11 PAC members are shielding the accused. The matter is before the Supreme Court and it is not correct for the media to pass judgment. Besides, it is also being probed by CBI, Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax Department.”
