Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah has expressed deep shock at the death of G. Kasturi.
In a message to K. Balaji, son of Mr. Kasturi and Director of Kasturi and Sons Limited, Mr. Rosaiah described the former Editor as the doyen of the print media. “He was a visionary who was known for his dynamism and instrumental in bringing about modernisation and expansion in The Hindu. ” His death was an “irreparable loss” to the newspaper industry.
Union Minister for Shipping G.K. Vasan, in a statement issued from New Delhi, termed Mr. Kasturi’s death a “huge loss to Tamil Nadu and the world of newspapers.”
The Chennai Press Club said in a statement that Mr. Kasturi played a major role in the growth of the newspaper industry. His death was a big loss to journalism.
