Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah has expressed deep shock at the death of G. Kasturi.
In a message to K. Balaji, son of Mr. Kasturi and Director of Kasturi and Sons Limited, Mr. Rosaiah described the former Editor as the doyen of the print media. “He was a visionary who was known for his dynamism and instrumental in bringing about modernisation and expansion in The Hindu.” His death was an “irreparable loss” to the newspaper industry.
Union Minister for Shipping G.K. Vasan, in a statement issued from New Delhi, termed Mr. Kasturi’s death a “huge loss to Tamil Nadu and the world of newspapers.”
The Chennai Press Club said in a statement that Mr. Kasturi played a major role in the growth of the newspaper industry. His death was a big loss to journalism.
