The doctors held demonstrations and raised anti-government slogans while staying away from work, badly affecting the functioning of the government medical college and several hospitals in Jammu district.
Emergency services were, however, being run by senior doctors.
The strike has affected the health care services in Primary Health Centres hospitals at Samba, Rajouri, Ramban, Poonch, Udhampur, Kathua, Billawar, Basholi, Bhaderwah, Doda, Kishtwar and Batote of Jammu region.
