January 06, 2011 12:46 am | Updated November 17, 2021 03:36 am IST - Mumbai:

The Rashtriya Banjara Kranti Dal, a party of the de-notified nomadic tribes, on Wednesday organised a rally here, demanding special constitutional rights for all nomadic tribes in the country.

‘Separate schedule'

“Just like there are separate schedules for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes, there has to be [a] separate schedule for the de-notified nomadic tribes. We need more constitutional rights,” Haribhau Rathod, party leader and former MP said in the rally.

He said the recommendations of the Renke commission should soon be implemented by the government.

Shivajirao Moghe, Minister of Social Justice, Maharashtra, laid stress on constitutional rights for the community.
