The Delhi police have requested the law intern — who has charged retired Supreme Court judge A.K. Ganguly with sexually harassing her — to come and record her statement.
This was communicated to the victim through an email on Thursday evening, hours after the action-taken report by a Supreme Court-appointed committee to look into the allegations was uploaded on the court’s website.
The report said there was “an act of unwelcome behaviour (unwelcome verbal/non-verbal conduct of sexual nature)” by Justice Ganguly.
“We have sent an email to her and awaiting her response. In the mail, we have requested her to tell us the time and place where her statement can be recorded,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) S.B.S. Tyagi said on Friday.
This is the second email sent to her by the Delhi police since they initiated a preliminary inquiry into the matter following a complaint by the former Dean of Delhi University Faculty of Law, S.N. Singh.
In the earlier mail sent on November 19, the police had made a similar request.
