The Delhi Police on Thursday served notice on Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh, asking him to appear for questioning in the cash-for-votes scam on Friday.

The police had written to the Home Ministry, seeking permission to question Mr. Singh and BJP Lok Sabha member Ashok Argal in the case.

Sanjeev Saxena, alleged to be an aide of the then Samajwadi Party general-secretary Amar Singh, and Sohail Hindustani, a Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha activist, have already been arrested in the case.

Mr. Hindustani, who was arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police on Wednesday, alleged that he was approached by Mr. Amar Singh and several Congress leaders for “arranging” Bharatiya Janata Party MPs for the trust vote.
