A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice G. Rohini and Justice R. S. Endlaw on Tuesday rejected the plea for a court-monitored CBI probe into the alleged land deals of the firms owned by Robert Vadra.
The Bench observed that the cause of action had not arisen and the petition had been filed on the basis of newspaper reports without producing any material to substantiate the authenticity of their contents.
The verdict has come as a major relief to Mr. Vadra who has been facing the heat over the grant of colony licences changing the land use of agricultural plots and land deals made by his firms in Haryana between 2005 and 2012 as well as in Rajasthan in 2009.
In its eight-page judgment, the Bench said Mr. Sharma had earlier filed a petition with the similar prayer before the Supreme Court. Since the petition was withdrawn from the apex court without the permission to institute a plea before the HC, the petitioner could not invoke the High Court’s jurisdiction in respect of the same cause of action.
