Asked whether Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad Yadav would be disqualified as a member of the Lok Sabha following a CBI court convicting him in the fodder scam on Monday, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar said this could be decided upon only after she got a copy of the judgment and examined it.

Ms. Kumar, who participated in a meeting of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Monday, told journalists: “You see, we have not received the judgment copy as yet and the quantum of punishment is still to be pronounced. It’s on the 3rd [October 3], I am told. After that we will decide.”
