The arrested founder-chief of the National Democratic Front of Boroland, Ranjan Daimary, on Sunday conveyed to his sister and Sahitya Akademi award winner Anjali Daimary that he was ready to sit for talks with the government, but not with handcuffs on.
Ms. Daimary revealed this to the media shortly after a court of Special Magistrate for CBI cases here remanded the NDFB chief to nine-day CBI custody in connection with the October 30, 2008 Assam serial blasts. Ms. Daimary met him on the court premises.
The CBI submitted before the court that though a composite charge sheet had been filed, the investigation was still continuing. Hence, the NDFB chief's custody was needed for 14 days for interrogation.
