Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday said that instead of benefitting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and National Democratic alliance (NDA) in Bihar elections, the latest Dadri incident of lynching over beef will damage BJP, the NDA and over all the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Participating in a ‘Man-O-Logue’ public programme organised by Panaji rotary Club here, Mr. Parrikar was asked if the incident of lynching of a Muslim person suspecting to have stored beef in his home had happened keeping an eye on Bihar and UP elections. Mr. Parrikar denied that it had anything to do with the RSS. He said that he himself was a hardcore RSS member since his childhood and can vouch for the non-involvement of the RSS in such act.

Mr. Parrikar said that any organisation which continuously encourages or harbours violence as a means of propagating its views or silence its opponents must be banned.
