Curfew relaxed in Srinagar, other parts of Valley

Curfew was on Monday relaxed in Srinagar city and other parts of the Valley in a phased manner, a police spokesman said here.

“Curfew has been relaxed from 2 pm to 7 pm in south, west and east zones of the city,” the spokesman said.

He said the relaxation period might be extended if the law and order situation remains normal.

The spokesman said a decision on relaxing curfew in north and Hazratbal zones of the city would be taken later in the day.

Curfew restrictions were also eased in Kangan and Ganderbal towns of central Kashmir from 11 am to 1 pm, while relaxation was announced in downtown areas of Sopore in north Kashmir from 10 am to 12 noon.

In Kupwara, Trehgam and Kralapora towns of north Kashmir, curfew was relaxed for five hours from 9 am to 2 pm.
