The BJP manifesto released here on Monday promises to end the decade-long “governance deficit” and scams in addition to “decision and policy paralysis” by ushering in growth and development under the leadership of its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

The document, pivoted around the theme of Ek bharat, shreshtha bharat (One India, supreme India), asserts that the manifesto is not just “an election formality” but a guarantee of what it aims to deliver, lists taming inflation and corruption as a priority.

It says from the feedback it received from across the country, inflation emerged as the biggest problem that people face. Its promise of Sabka sath, sabka vikas (development for all) sounds similar to the Congress slogan of Har haath shakti, har haath taraki .

Mr. Modi’s views on foreign policy, “zero tolerance” of terrorism also find a mention.
