The cross-Line of Control (LoC) bus service was stopped on Monday in the Kashmir Valley “due to security reasons.”

The bus service, Karwan-e-Aman, carrying 39 passengers was stopped in Baramulla district’s Bandi area and disallowed to proceed towards the Kaman Post to enter into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The bus, which started its journey from Srinagar at 7 am with 14 passengers on board, was stopped by the army at Bandi in Uri tehsil of Baramulla district, a police official said.

An official said the decision to disallow the passenger bus to travel into PoK was made due to “an anti-militancy operation” in the area.

The Srinagar-bound bus was also sent back from Uri. The bus stopped was by the Army as a precautionary measure.
