Demanding roll back of price hike in petroleum products, CPI(M) on Wednesday blamed both the Congress and the BJP for price-rise as their economic policies were “two sides of a same coin“.

“There is no difference between the Congress and the BJP as far as their economic policies are concerned. They are two sides of a same coin,” CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat told reporters outside the Parliament.

She said the government policy is directly responsible for the (price rise) burden on people particularly when there were 15 times increase in prices of petroleum products.

“We are moving amendments to the resolution and demanding the roll-back on petrol and diesel prices. We want a resolution which would pinpoint that it was the government’s failure and its policies framework which puts burden on the people,” she said.
