Court to Swamy: wait for CBI charge sheet

March 29, 2011 02:18 am | Updated October 01, 2016 12:37 am IST - NEW DELHI:

A court here on Monday asked Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy to wait until the CBI files its final report in the 2G spectrum scam before making any submissions as part of his complaint in the matter.

The CBI is expected to file its charge sheet on March 31 before a special court formed under the direction of the Supreme Court.

Dr. Swamy told Special Judge (CBI) O.P. Saini that he wants to be made a deemed public prosecutor in the case; that he has sought sanction from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in a letter dated March 23, 2011, for prosecution of Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram for his alleged role in the scam; and that he intends to move an application to implead Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi as a coaccused in the case.

“Let us wait for the CBI's final report in the matter,” Justice Saini said, while posting the matter for April 18.
