The Delhi High Court on Tuesday issued notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation on DB Realty promoter Vinod Goenka's petition that challenged the framing of charges against him in the 2G spectrum allocation case.
Justice M.L. Mehta directed the investigating agency to file a reply by March 13 when petitions of the other accused against the framing of charges against them by the special court will be taken up for consideration.
Mr. Goenka is on bail. The CBI arrested him in April last.
So far, Mr. Goenka; the former Telecom Secretary, Siddhartha Behura; Reliance ADAG's group managing director Gautam Doshi; its senior vice-president Hari Nair and group president Surendra Pipara; Unitech Wireless promoter Sanjay Chandra; Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables promoters Rajeev Agarwal and Asif Balwa; Reliance Telecom and Unitech have moved the High Court for quashing of the charge-framing order by Special Judge O.P. Saini on April 22 last.
Charges framed
Mr. Saini had framed charges against 17 accused for offences of conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, cheating, forgery and abuse of official position under the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
