The Delhi High Court on Tuesday reserved order on a public interest litigation petition by Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy seeking a direction to the Election Commission to either incorporate the technology of obtaining printouts of voter details in EVMs or introduce ballot papers as the machines were proved vulnerable to tampering.
Acting Chief Justice A.K. Sikri and Justice Rajiv Sahai Enlaw were on the Bench which reserved the judgment at the conclusion of arguments.
The Commission said there was no major problem with the EVM and it had been proved to be effective cost and time-wise. The machine was also useful in saving records for a certain period and retrieving them if required.
