A court here on Tuesday asked the Delhi Police to investigate the criminal defamation complaint filed against Congress MP Naveen Jindal and 16 others by Zee News Editor Sudhir Chaudhary who had accused them of levelling false allegations to tarnish his image.
Metropolitan Magistrate Jay Thareja directed the SHO of Tughlak Road police station here to probe the role of Mr. Jindal and 16 other officials of his firm Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. and to file an investigation report in four weeks.
The court also ordered police to seize the minutes of the meetings and other documents of the National Broadcast Editors Association regarding the termination of Mr. Chaudhary’s membership and his removal from the post of treasurer.
