June 14, 2016 01:32 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:47 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

The Congress filed a petition with the Election Commission on Monday demanding cancellation of the recent polls for two Rajya Sabha seats from Haryana.

Accusing the BJP and the RSS of hatching a conspiracy to defeat Congress-backed candidate R.K. Anand, the party’s general secretary B.K. Hariprasad, Haryana unit chief Ashok Tanwar and legal cell secretary K.C. Mittal said the State government led by Manohar Lal Khattar “misused” government machinery to rig the polls.

Mr. Hariprasad said there was no “internal sabotage.”
