Congress declines to disclose stand on Anna's invite

December 05, 2011 10:43 pm | Updated July 29, 2016 11:42 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The Congress on Monday refused to spell out its stand on Team Anna's proposal to invite leaders of all political parties to Jantar Mantar here to put their views on the Lokpal Bill.

“We'll cross the bridge when we come to it,” Congress spokesperson Renuka Chowdhury said, asked whether the party leaders would go if invited.

Team Anna had earlier invited leaders of all parties to Jantar Mantar on December 11, when Anna Hazare plans to observe a daylong fast, to put their views on Lokpal Bill. The invitation is a deviation from Team Anna's stand as on previous occasions it did not allow politicians to share its platform.
