The next round of the Congress’s agitation against the National Democratic Alliance’s new Land Bill will begin at Bhatta and Parsaul villages in Western Uttar Pradesh on March 13 and end with a gherao of Parliament on March 16.

Former Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh will lead a march on foot by farmers of the region and Indian Youth Congress activists from the two villages on March 13, party sources said.

The protesters will march up to Raj Ghat in two days and then launch a protest near Parliament.

“This is being done under directions from the Congress vice-president [Rahul Gandhi],” sources said.

While Congress leaders declined to say whether Mr. Gandhi will address the protestors, they confirmed he was directly involved in the exercise.
