Blaming the Congress for non-formation of a “secular” ruling coalition in Jharkhand, RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Tuesday said the party’s “arrogance” virtually cleared the pitch for a government with support of “communal” BJP.
“Had the Congress taken initiative for formation of a coalition government comprising secular parties and groups, it would have succeeded and the State would have been saved from a rule with support of communal forces, Mr. Prasad told reporters.
“In fact, Congress’ arrogance virtually prevented the formation of a secular government in Jharkhand,” he said.
JMM leader Sibu Soren was left with no option other than seeking help from the BJP for forming a government, Mr. Prasad added.
