Complaint boxes for girl students

January 09, 2013 11:56 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 10:59 pm IST - Patna:

In a bid to curb harassment of women and girl students, the administration in Bihar’s Kaimur district on Wednesday issued directions to educational institutions to maintain complaint boxes and visitors’ register in their facilities.

Girl students are expected to cast their complaints in the boxes that would be opened by heads of the institutes for further action.

The administration will have to be immediately notified in case of serious complaints, failing which the institutions will be liable for action.

The authorities have also directed principals, professors and teachers to “monitor” students inside the premises as well as outside on their way home.

Institutions have been directed to keep the main gates closed during working hours.
