Congress MLAs and MLCs from Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions have decided to withdraw their resignations.

The MLAs and MLCs Forum for Integrated AP, who held an emergency meeting here on Thursday, welcomed Union Minister P. Chidambaram's statement on holding wider consultations with all the stakeholders on the formation of Telangana.

"The decision to hold wider consultations shows that the Centre has recognised the feelings of the people of other regions who are struggling for unified State," Forum convenor S. Sailajanath said. The legislators had decided to withdraw their resignations following the "positive response" from the Centre to their agitation, he added.

He wanted elected representatives of Telangana too to observe restraint and abide by the Centre's decision.

Meanwhile, Ministers from Telangana region held confabulations with AP Congress Committee president D. Srinivas about the situation arising out of the Centre's latest announcement. Though a majority of Ministers are yet to clarify their stand, Labour Minister R. Venkat Reddy hailing from Khammam said the MLAs from his district would not take any decision that would embarrass the party leadership.
