The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday said Team Anna raising the issue of alleged corruption in allocation of coal blocs was a “natural consequence” of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh “shying away” from replying to the opposition’s demands for a clarification in Parliament.

“It is a natural consequence of the Prime Minister shying away from making a statement in Parliament when Opposition had raised the issue on the floor of the House... we are happy about it,” BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said in New Delhi.

He said that he had moved an adjournment motion in the Rajya Sabha on May 22, 2012.

“Though the Question Hour was adjourned, the government did not come out with a statement... Now when Team Anna made the allegation, he chose his visit to Myanmar to react to it. Now he (the Prime Minister) is answerable to the crowd on the streets. He is answerable to a bigger forum,” he said.

He was reacting to the Team Anna and Baba Ramdev raking up the issue of coal bloc allocation at their joint fast at Jantar Mantar.

Mr. Rudy said it was the BJP which had first raised the issue of alleged irregularities in allocation of coal blocs and black money being stashed abroad.

BJP is demanding Manmohan Singh inside the Parliament and Anna Hazare and Ram Deve are demanding outside the Parliament to explain his scam and corruption in Coal. He is not only avoiding to reply these charges and allegations but also acting to be emotional in his refusal that he will retire from Public wife if he charges are proved. Where is question of emotions here? Guilty or not guilty! Let him resign first to face the charges and choose his retirement later from Public life if the charges are proved. When he is in Prime Minister post who will frame charges? C B I? no, no, not at all, as long as it is under his control.

I salute the determination of Team Anna (Bedi, Kejeriwal, Bhushans...) and Ramdev. They have been relentlessly continuing this battle for us idiots and self centered citizens of this country, even when the whole system is against them. We don't deserve leaders like you, let us and the country rot, we are happy with our third world mentality, poverty with scamsters and rapists roaming scot-free among us.

The PM cannot pretend himself as a non corrupt since all the scam
occurred under his nose. If he said he did nothing, he has no right to
stick to this constitutional post as he is forgetting the collective
responsibilities of PM which envisaged in our constitution. No one
speak about this violation of our sacred constitution. From the all the
activities and non activities of PM, no inference can be drawn whether
he is ideologue or statemans to implement his agenda anyhow. Only one
thing is clear he only want that chair that why he is compromise and
allow all thing. Is this not corruption?

As usual, BJP wants their share of flush. The earlier demand was for enquiry in the same manner proposed by the Anna team, now they say PM should answer, when he answers they would defenitely say the answer is not acceptable. Like this the irresponsible politics goes on....on....on.

And why is issue of chopper deals and fighter planes being
drowned in the coal-gate?

Actually these issues were lost in the din of the cartoon mela we
witnessed in the parliament. Does it mean that all parties have
their fingers in the defense deals pie?
That there is rot in the armed forces has been known for a long
time. In modern era every one knows who is buying what from the
arms market. Hence the need to have a hush hush secrecy over the
defence deals and the inventory we are supposed to carry is long
over.
It is high time that successive governments stop pulling wool over
the people's eyes and explain why huge defence outlay which
virtually hands over our scarce resources to the west in return
for arguably questionable weapons systems should not be diverted
to job creation, energy security and domestic manufacture for
infrastructure projects?
We have domestic technology, mines and skilled manpower. If we
can build rockets and missiles why import choppers and planes?
