Coaches of Delhi Patna train set ablaze

August 18, 2009 12:32 pm | Updated 12:32 pm IST - Patna:

A group of students set two coaches of the Delhi-Patna Shramjivi Express train on fire on Tuesday following an altercation with men of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), officials said.

The incident occurred at the Bihta railway station, about 30 km from Patna. Some of the students were allegedly travelling without tickets.

There was an exchange of words between the students and the RPF following which the students pelted stones and burnt two air—conditioned coaches of the Shramjivi Express.

Some of the students have been injured and are in hospital because the police beat them, officials said.
