Chief Justice of India K. G. Balakrishnan, who was admitted to a private hospital here this morning following a stomach ailment, has been kept under observation and is likely to be discharged tomorrow, Supreme Court sources said.
The CJI, who has been unwell since last evening, was taken to Apollo Hospital where the doctors treated him for indigestion.
They said 64-year-old Justice Balakrishan was kept on drips in the intensive care unit (ICU) and his condition is returning to normal.
“The CJI was admitted in the ICU and the doctors treated him for indigestion. He is likely to be released tomorrow,” sources said adding it was not a serious ailment.
The CJI will not preside over his court tomorrow also, they said.
