New Delhi and Seoul have finalised a civil nuclear agreement which now awaits signature, National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon told journalists after a meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit here.
The two leaders discussed issues relating to the G-20 summit, which will be hosted next month by South Korea, the first time by a non-G-8 country. Mr. Lee mentioned the need for systematic implementation of decisions taken at G-20 meetings. Dr. Singh agreed that both sides would work together to achieve this aim, said Mr. Menon.
The two leaders did not discuss the stalled multibillion-dollar Posco project in Orissa.
On Thursday, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma, briefing journalists, said the issue would come up at the meeting and went on to state what Dr. Singh's response would be.
