The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has summoned Tamil actor Ranjitha to appear before its investigating officials to give her statements pertaining to the alleged sex scandal involving her and Swami Nithyananda of Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam of Bidadi.
A notice was issued to the actor through her advocate on Monday and CID officials are anticipating her reply, Deputy Inspector-General of Police (CID) K.S.R. Charan Reddy told the presspersons here on Tuesday.
Her advocate had sought a copy of the first information report of the case, which had been duly sent along with the notice, Mr. Reddy said.
Meanwhile, the CID received an interim report from forensic experts on the CDs pertaining to the scandal. Around 30 items, including CDs and hard discs, were sent for analysis. The CID will get expert opinion on all the 30 by the next three weeks, he said.
The CID has submitted reports to the Union government pertaining to the godman's financial activities and the departments concerned may initiate action.
However Mr. Reddy ducked most questions saying “investigation is under progress”. Nithyananda is unlikely to be interrogated again in connection with the case, he said.
Meanwhile another officer, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Hindu: “At least 15 persons, including a few women, had contacted the CID officials and orally complained against the swami.” A few women alleged sexual abuse while a man, suffering from medical problems, alleged the swami swindled him of Rs. 50,000 after promising to cure him.
When several sessions at the ashram did not cure him, he alleged, Nithyananda asked him to get himself admitted in hospital.

Even if it is consensual act it is not permitted by a SANYASIN who was initiating Brhamacharies and Brhamacharinies. Authenticity and sanctity of our age old traditions needs to be maintained. Else everyone will SHOW a different face to public (like Nithyananda did) and be something totally different behind the curtains. This is not acceptable of GURU's who are supposed to be taking people away from Lust and Greed. Nithyananda was preaching techniques to control lust and greed to the public but was LUSTY and GREEDY behind the scenes. He needs to practice what he was preaching, don;t you think so PAUL???
This individual not abused women sexually,can any one see in the picture was there any force,when the answer is NO .It is certainly the consent one.Regarding take money from gullible believers which are all criminal offenses .Fine if it is so ,We go to doctor with the belief he can cure the disease and spent lot of money. If it is nor cured we go to other doctor,where lot of money csn be expended.Here we never say the doctor cheated me.
A consensual act between two adults-Who are these two adults-A male with SAFFRON robe and calling himself a Sanyasi and the female actress who could not live her peaceful life with the Husband.May be it is their personnel but definitely immoral and they should be ashamed of this act.This act requires condemnation from public so that this may be a lesson for others who are not able to control their senses.Leading a disciplined life has become difficult for the people because of cinemas in the name of entertainments.Cinemas are spoiling young and immature minds and morality is getting lost.

This individual is accused of abusing women sexually, accused of swindling money from gullible believers which are all criminal offenses. Government must investigate and punish any individual who cheats general public irrespective of the faith he/she belongs to. His alleged offenses were carried out in India not in USA and as such concerned state govt has got an obligation to investigate & punish if found guilty.
I am simply waiting for some result. If they decide to punish Nithyananda I would be happy because I believe he deserves it as he cheated those who trusted him. If they decide to free him, I would be happy that the same people who support him for whatever selfish reasons, will get cheated again and eventually learn their lesson. As long as I and people like me, are immune to his type of brainwashing, it is all good. Go Nithyananda!!
A consensual act between two individuals does not matter much to the public.Agreed.But it does matter when one of the two remains the same and the other person falls as a prey for the corporeal desires of the other.The tax-payers money is not wasted here as this trail may be an eye-opener to the public so that they can be aware of swindlers preaching spirituality to gain fame and to fulfill their basic instincts at the cost of the dignity and faith(in God) of the innocent masses(tax-payers).
This guy is a classic conman, with his non-disclosure agreements with female devotees and his sex therapy sessions and his ill-gotten wealth. He is a disgrace to Sanatana Dharma. Please read Radha Rajan and Sandhya Jain's articles exposing his misdeeds.
I'd like to congratulate The Hindu for showing restraint and for reporting only verifiable facts. There is a lot of noise, rumors and gossip floating around this case and I mostly look to "The Hindu" for what is authentic. One request to Hindu is bit more updates on the case on a regular basis so people wont turn to substandard "news outlets".

It seems you are big typical fan of 2 adults Swami and Ranjitha. But your talks seems childish. If they dont investigate, then what do you expect them to do? It seems like you are defending the 2 adults.
And dont show your botheration about taxpayer money. There are so many other acts where taxpayer money goes waste.
Why is the Government getting involved in this ? No criminal acts were committed.
Also, a Catholic priest now hiding in South India was found guilty of abusing minor boys and girls in USA. Why is the government not after this guy ??

When Nithyananda's custody was extended by another 12 days I did suspect if it was a ploy to manufacture victims.Here's a a proof of probably manufactured victims who didn't come out in the initial 8 days of Nithyananda's custody when CID was literally begging someone to come up with charges against Swamiji what with anonymous hot lines etc,but came out in the extended custody period.
Also the proof of Union Govt's involvement.
