External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna on Sunday said the foreign ministers of China, Russia and India will meet in Bangalore on October 26 and 27 to discuss trilateral issues.

In an informal chat with journalists at Kukke Subrahmanya, during his private visit to the temple town, Mr. Krishna said his counterparts Yang Jiechi of China and Sergei Lavrov of Russia are scheduled to attend the meeting.

It may be mentioned that Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao has already gone on record and said that the agenda for the trilateral meeting had been set.

In an interview to the All India Radio, a transcript of which has been uploaded on the website of the Ministry of External Affairs, she said the Ministers will discuss the regional situation and the opportunities that arise to strengthen dialogue between the three major powers in the region.

Ms. Rao said subjects like energy security, better connectivity, and dialogue between the academic institutions will be discussed.
