Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan's residence ‘Varsha' received a mischief call on Friday evening between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
However, there was no threat involved.
“It was someone, claiming to be someone,” Rajneesh Seth, Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), told The Hindu on the phone.

“It was some mischief and we are looking into it,” Deven Bharti, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), said.
The Chief Minister's Public Relation Officer Satish Lalit told The Hindu that on Friday evening a person by the name of Yadav called ‘Varsha' and said he wanted to speak to Mr. Chavan.
“When told that one cannot just make a call and speak to the CM, he insisted and called repeatedly. A complaint has been registered,” Mr. Lalit said.
Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjeev Dayal said the call was not threatening.
Unconfirmed reports said the caller claimed to be from the Al-Qaeda, but Mr. Dayal and Mr. Lalit denied it.
