The local police have filed a charge sheet against the six people accused of gang-raping a Swiss woman on March 16 in a forest. The charge sheet was filed despite no test identification parade (TIP) of the accused being carried out.
Investigation officer N.S. Rawat, who is also in-charge of the women’s cellphone, said a hundred-page charge sheet was filed on Tuesday against the accused under various sections pertaining to rape and robbery.
Enough evidence
The prosecution said it has enough forensic evidence to prove the culpability of the accused. The police also claimed it has enough evidence to prove the charges against the accused.
Chambal Range DIG Dilip Arya also confirmed that the charge sheet was filed in the Additional District Judge’s court and the trial would begin on March 30.
The Swiss national and her companion were on their way to Agra, and were camping in the open near a forest area when about half-a-dozen armed people raped her.
