The Union government stood firm in its decision to replace German with Sanskrit in Kendriya Vidyalyas, saying students have the option to continue learning German as an “additional subject or a hobby course.”
In an affidavit filed before the Supreme Court on Thursday, the Commissioner of KVS dismissed suggestions that introduction of Sanskrit in Classes 6 to 8 would cause students “undue pressure or stress.”
