Centre bans export of milk powder, casein

The Centre on Friday banned export of milk powder and its products to check the rising prices of milk. Besides, export of casein, a protein derivative of milk, and its products has also been banned by the Commerce Ministry.

The ban will apply to skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, dairy whitener and infant milk foods, Directorate-General of Foreign Trade said in its order.
